WEEKEND CORNER: BLESS THE LORD OH MY SOUL!

Click here for last week’s episode of the Weekend’s Corner. 😁

Sometimes, we tend to go through life looking down on ourselves and forgetting the great store of virtue lying within us.

This calls for self examination and realisation.

Seriously I usually get tired of knowing so much and doing so little, I mean how can I go to church on Sunday and pray like Elijah, and then on Monday, I can’t remember a word from all I learnt.

So, today, starting from 8pm, we would share the lessons we gained from our personal bible studies, worship services, personal devotion, etc. during the course of this outgoing week.

Of course, we must sing a song, and this week’s song is titled 10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman

Enjoy the lyrics of the song with me

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name

The sun comes up
It’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass
And whatever lies before me
Let me be singing
Till the evening comes

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name

You’re rich in love
And You’re slow to anger
Your name is great
And Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness
I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons
For my heart to find

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name
Bless You Lord

And on that day
When my strength is failing
The end draws near
And my time has come
Still my soul will
Sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years
And then forevermore
Forevermore

Yes, bless the Lord from your soul, yeah, from within your inmost being.

NB: I’m sorry I had to change the title… Ehm! You know I write as the Spirit leads, so waking up this morning, I was led to change the title from “renew your vision” to “Bless the Lord Oh my soul.” Thank you for staying with me on this one. I 😍… love you!

We await your comments in the comments section. God bless you

  1. Good evening friends… Let us pray.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for such a time as this, we ask that You will take perfect control of this meeting tonight, in Jesus’ name I pray!

  2. This week, I learnt that my Heavenly Father has no delight in the death of a sinner. Hence, I must:

    1. Rescue the lost as God demands
    2. Reach to sinners as Christ desires.
    3. Restore the Prodigal as the Spirit directs.

  3. Faith brings expectations to reality.
Faith is obtained by the word of God.
    Faith always works.

This particular verse in scripture struck me “… In Thy light, we see light…” – Psalm 36:9

In His (Christ’s) light, I see light!
And what is light? Light is divine revelation, divine direction. Remember Christ saying that whosoever walks in the light will not stumble, because he has the light of life. Yes, that’s part of what we’re talking about. Somebody say ‘Light’.

Receive light for your life, in Jesus’ name!

  4. Finally, I can never be poor – somebody say “Amen!”

Christ became poor so I will be rich, hence poverty is not my lot, in Jesus’ name! Amen.

So, is it for you, in Jesus’ name! Amen!

I look forward to seeing your comments

  5. Good evening Salt.
    Amen to the prayers.
Wonderful lessons up there. I am blessed!
This week I learnt that even in my seemingly difficult days, God is always there- right in the midst of it, working things out for my good
